Introduction
DS WebDL is a simple assembly program when
executed, hides from the Windows 9x task manager then waits for a connection
to the internet. On connection, the server will begin to download the file
you have specified in the editor. If the download is succesful, the server
will then attempt to notify you that the file is downloaded and will tell
you the operating system they were running after the download completed along
with the path and filename of where it was downloaded. After the ICQ notification,
it attempts to self delete it self to leave no traces behind to the victim
who ran the server.
Package files
The files that are included with this version of DS WebDL are
the following...
- editor.exe >> This program modifies the server's
variables, if you do not know what the variables are, they are URL/File/UIN.
- server.exe >>
This is the program that you send to your victim. It can have the following
extensions: .exe, .bat, .com, .pif, or .scr
- tools\pack.exe
>> This program when ran asks you to select the file you want to pack,
select the DS WebDL server you have edited then hit the OK button. You should
hear a short beep come from your computer. Which means the file was packed
succesfully.
- help\index.htm
>> This is the file you are reading now. It tells you the basic stuff
for this program.
How to use
Okay, I advise you read the notes...then run the file "editor.exe"
(4.85kb) and hit the browse button and select "server.exe" (3.50kb
unpacked). Once you have selected the server and hit the OK button, click
the read button, which will open the file you have selected, then read from
the offsets which are constants in the editor.exe will then put the values
of the server in the edit boxes or text boxes, whatever you call them. After
the edit boxes are filled you may edit them to your needs. Make sure the install
path is valid and exists or the download will fail. Most computers are c:\windows
anyways. But you do not have to put it in the windows directory, you can place
it in the root directory if you wish. If you do not want or do not have ICQ,
place 0 in the edit box. After you have configured the settings to your needs,
hit the write button to allow the editor to save the new values. After that,
you can hit the exit button then pack the server with your desired packer
or with the packer included with DS WebDL (FSG). And finally send the server(rename
it to something normal) by e-mail or a file transfer through an instant messenger
or an IRC client.
Features
- SEH(Structure Error
Handling) : No more general protection faults and shit.
- ICQ Notify : This has been re-added due to popular demand.
It will notify if the file download successfully, but will not page if it
does not download.
-
Melt : The server deletes
itself after the download was finished(failed or not).
-
Hide from task manager
: This version like DS WebDL 2 hides from the Windows 9x task manager (ctrl+alt+del).
-
Wait before download : This
version now waits until a connection to the internet is found before attempting
to download the file.
-
OS Detection : In the ICQ
notify it will tell you the victim's operating system.
Bugs
There
are no known bugs as of yet. The server was tested on the following operating
systems: Windows 98 SE and Windows XP and Windows 2000.
Future versions
There
will be a DS WebDL 4, but there is currently no specified release date.
Notes
There are a few little bits of information you should consider...
1] After you pack the server, you can not reedit it unless you
unpack it.
2] It
is illegal to use this server on people without their permission and knowledge
that you are using it. (Invasion of privacy or some crap.)
3] After
Norton Anti-Virus and McAffee and all those other virus scanners detect the
server, I suggest that you pack the server with a very very less known packer
and not use common ones like UPX, ASPack, etc.
4] Please
contact me, if you discover any bugs or having any questions or concerns about
DS WebDL. Also please email me if your anti-virus scanner detects the server,
because then I may release another new compiled server.
5] If you read the file and you get nothing in the edit boxes
or get some unreadable text, that means you tried to read a packed server
or its not a DS WebDL 3 server.
6] The maximum amount of characters
allowed in the URL and the filename is 60. While the ICQ UIN limit is 9 characters.
7] If the server is sent to a XP/2K/NT victim, the icq pager will
say the os is NT. Since all of them are based on NT basically. If it's 9x
or ME it will display 9x.
8] The execution now uses ShellExecute instead of WinExec..because
of 2 reasons, 1 being WinExec is obsoleted and 2 WinExec only supports .bat/.com/.exe.
9] Before in the ICQ notify...if you used long file names like
C:\my documents...you would have to use C:\mydocum~1 in order to get the page.
This has been fixed.
