ErrMess Remote Computer consists of two modules: * ErrMess Client 4.1 (errclient.exe) needs to be installed on the local computer (for example your home PC or notebook) which you want to use to access your remote computer. * ErrMess Server 4.1 (errserver.exe) needs to be installed on the remote computer (for example your office PC) that you want to access from your own one (for example your home PC or notebook). To get started make sure ErrMess Server is running on the remote computer. Then run ErrMess Client on the local computer and connect to the remote computer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- System requirements ---------------------------------------------------------------------- * ErrMess Client will run on Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008 * ErrMess Server will run on Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008 Both computers need to be connected by TCP/IP on a local network, modem-to-modem, or over the Internet. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Installing ErrMess Server 4.1: ------------------------------- 1. Run errserver.exe to install ErrMess Server. 2. Make sure errserver.exe is running in the Process list from Windows Task Manager. Installing ErrMess Client 4.1: ------------------------------- 1. Run errclient.exe to install ErrMess Client. 2. Enter the remote computers IP address or DNS name and click on Connect 3. Type "PASS" in the security box and click on OK. 4. You have no successfully made a connection with the remote computer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Establishing connection ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Configure ErrMess Server on the remote PC: If you use Windows XP firewall errserver.exe file will be added to the firewall's exceptions list during the installation. You must know the IP address of your remote PC. To know it click on whatsmyip.exe and it will dump a text file with the requested information. 2. Run ErrMess Client on the local PC: Create a new connection and enter the IP address of the remote PC. Press "Connect".
